British Heart Foundation
About
The British Heart Foundation was founded in 1961 by a group of eminent medical practitioners and lay advisers, under the patronage of Prince Philip. Its main function is to raise funds to encourage research into the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of all forms of cardiovascular disease.
The Jersey Branch was founded in 1972 with the objective of raising funds to support the National Appeal. Considerable sums have been raised by the Jersey Branch, some of which have been ploughed back into vital equipment required in Jersey in the Coronary Care Unit and the Maternity Hospital.Categories: Charities, Healthcare.
