The original lineup goes back to early 98, an old german bunker on the jersey coast was a practice room and we were a 3 piece. dave spars on bass + vocals, steve creedy on guitar and backing and josh gillard on drums, the crashing jets were born.we started off with a handful of covers by bands like fugazi and the gadgits but something was'nt quite there. josh decided to quit, steve shortly followed. dave was pissed off and soon the word got out for new members. so mid 98 dave started jamming with rico sorda on guitar and darren eversfield (eddie) on drums. they had a good few years on dave but loads of energy. they practised flat out and after a year they had a handful of gigs behind them and a good following. suddenly dave decided to leave the island and rico and eddie were stuck. sept 2000 they started jamming with steve from the original line up and lee gosselin on bass (who'd been on the band scene for a good few years). it seemed to gel straightaway and with a couple of the old songs and a few new songs the first gig was booked. 2 months later at the relais de mielles & so bulletproof ripped it up with a stonking 30 min supporting set. Over the next 2 years numerous gigs followed all over the island. Steve, Eddie and Lee jammed solid for weeks, with steve taking the reigns as main vocals & guitar and the overall band gelling and tightening their sound, it seemed destined to continue as a three piece. they burst back onto the scene firing on all cylinders at the purple lounge(r.i.p)in aug 02,with a new set of old and new material they didnt disapoint the old fans and have since aquired many more. with gig’s coming thick and fast bulletproof continued to do what they do best, play live and enjoy it,100%! check out the rest of the site for more info and dates etc. july 2002 and the proof were shaken by rico deciding to leave. 250 crazy fucking gigs down the line and an increasing fan base behind them, there was no reason to even think about a split.Categories: Musicians.
