    About
The Dinosaur Game, often called the Chrome Dino Game or T-Rex Game, is one of the most iconic hidden features on the internet. Found in Google Chrome, it appears when users lose their internet connection, offering a simple yet entertaining way to pass the time. Over the years, it has grown from a small Easter egg into a beloved mini-game played by millions worldwide.

    How the Game Works

The rules are simple: you control a pixelated T-Rex running through a desert. Your goal is to survive as long as possible while avoiding obstacles like cacti and pterodactyls. The dinosaur starts running automatically, and the speed increases over time, making the game progressively harder.

Jump: Press the spacebar or tap the screen to make the T-Rex leap over obstacles.

Duck: On desktop, press the down arrow to avoid flying pterodactyls.

Score: The longer you run, the higher your score climbs.

There is no ultimate “win” in the Dinosaur Game—it continues until you crash.

    The Story Behind the Game

Google introduced the Dinosaur Game in September 2014. The idea came from developers who wanted a fun, offline Easter egg for Chrome users. The T-Rex was chosen because it symbolized being “offline” or “prehistoric”—just like life before the internet.

Fun fact: The developers even nicknamed the game “Project Bolan” after Marc Bolan, the lead singer of the band T. Rex.
