Dr. Ellis initially qualified as a pharmacist in 1976 at the University of Wales Institute of Technology in Cardiff and spent several years as pharmacist across the south of England (with a brief spell in Jersey). In 1979 Dr. Ellis began his medical training at St Thomas’ Hospital London, during which time he also completed four years as a locum Chief Pharmacist in the UAE. He qualified as a doctor in 1984 and spent several years working as a Senior House Officer in hospitals around Bristol, where he gained experience across a wide range of specialisms. Dr. Ellis began his GP training in Keynesham in 1987. After completing his training, Dr. Ellis came to Jersey in 1988 and joined the GP practice at 41 David Place.
