1. Following the departure of The Services club from the ground floor bar area we have undertaken a radical transformation of the bar to create a stunning and state of the art pool hall. World class 8 ball and 9 ball tables, darts, carom, bar billiards, TV's and sports coverage, plush seating, a new paint job and décor, its got to be seen to be believed. And membership to take advantage of all these facilities and some of the cheapest bar prices in Jersey. Just £5 a year! Pool token remain just 50p for 10 minutes of play - incredible value.
2. The renovation doesn't stop downstairs. 3 new snooker tables have been installed in the main snooker hall of the JMI. Not just any old tables, but 3 world class Riley Aristocrat tables. All 8 snooker tables have been re-covered and lovingly tended to by World Snooker Services and are all running to the best possible standard. Easily the best snooker facilities in the Channel Islands, the JMI is once again at the very top of the game.
3. We're delighted to welcome Planet Poker to the JMI! In late April 2014 Planet Poker relocated to the upstairs bar of the JMI and are now running organised poker events at least 3 nights a week open to everyone. Check the links below for more information, or pop into the club any time for more details.
4. To really break in our new facilities, and in particular our recently installed American 9 ball table, the JMI are proud to announce that the one and only Earl "The Pearl" Strickland will be performing an exhibition match at the club on Saturday 14th June 2014. This is an amazing opportunity to get up close and personal with one of cue sports - of any discipline - real legends. Tickets are just £15 for members or £20 for non-members (which includes your 2014 membership!). Earl will perform a trick shot routine and will play up to 5 matches against local players on the night. There will be qualifying tournaments (keep an eye on the website for details) and a raffle on the night to win a match with Earl, a signed cue, and loads of other one of a kind prizes.
5. Thanks to Carling we have a sponsorship fund for new tournaments and will shortly be announcing details of both pool and snooker competitions to take place over the coming months. A new pool league will be announced shortly as well so make sure you have your membership lined up and keep an eye on the website for more details.
