Littlefeet Enviromental

Littlefeet Environmental was established in 2008 on the Island of Jersey as an environmental consultancy to aid businesses in setting up environmental management systems to monitor and reduce their company's impacts on the environment. This was in compliance with the island's Eco-Active Business Scheme as well as ISO 14001, which is an international environmental business standard.
In December of 2011, Littlefeet Environmental decided to change route and became a registered not for profit organization. The focus of our organisation became marine conservation and development at home on the Island of Jersey where each week we conduct shoreline cleanups around the island. We are also involved with local schools and surf clubs providing them with educational seminars and discussion groups while gradually building up our next generation of conservationists. Our team of dedicated Onshore Volunteers work with other local businesses to join forces and contribute to a forever growing effort to protect our local coastlines.
Littlefeet Environmental also base their work in the country of Mexico. On the Caribbean coast of this Latin-American country lies our first international, grassroots research project. Our main objective of this project is to facilitate marine turtle conservation in three nationally protected areas while working with the local communities to encourage further protection and the sustainable use of these ecologically diverse areas. These areas include the Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve, the Sian Ka'an World Heritage Site and Xcalak National Marine Park where four different species of marine turtles can be found.
As a non-profit organisation. we decided to specialise in marine turtle conservation as marine turtles are a highly migratory and truly international species that can be throughout the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic oceans while also acting as an indicator species to determine the health and quality of various oceanic and terrestrial ecosystems.
Our Mission
We aim to build an environmentally and socially responsible community of organisations and individuals through ecological research, sustainable travel and volunteering while utilising marine turtles as a keystone specie to develop volunteer expeditions and initiate collective local community involvement both at home and abroad.Categories: Environmental Consultants & Management, Wildlife Conservation.
