Marie-Christine Dix, a Jersey born Chiropractor, studied for her Masters degree in Chiropractic at the internationally renowned Anglo European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. Following working for a multi-doctor practice in Hove for nearly three years, being part of the team that helped the Practice achieve the prestigious Chiropractor PPQM 2008-2010 Award from the College of Chiropractors UK, for meeting patient expectations and promoting good standards of practice, she returned to the island in 2008 and set up Back to Balance Chiropractic.
The one-doctor practice orginally situated within an existing suite on the the third floor of the Lido Medical Centre has grown from strength to strength over the past few years and Marie-Christine took on new and larger premises in 2009. The clinic expanded again in early 2012 to become one of the islands first Wellness Centres.
"The Lido Wellness Centre" comprises six treatment rooms offering a variety of therapies alongside Chiropractic; including Sports Massage, Foot and Facial Reflexology, Holistic Hormone Health, Nutrition, CranioSacral Therapy (CST), Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Natural Cosmetic and Aesthetic procedures to name a few.
Marie-Christine is dedicated to promoting health within the local community having given numerous audio visual, self-written and presented health talks to local schools in Jersey and Brighton and Hove. She has also offered advice on back care issues including on air, at the local Radio Station, Radio Reverb (Sussex). As part of Marie-Christine's ongoing vision to help local people find wellness and information to help themselves; "The Lido Wellness Centre" will be offering regular talks and information sessions that will be open to the general public. If you would like more information on these please do not hesitate to contact us and we will notify you of our upcoming schedule.
Marie-Christine’s introduction to Chiropractic began in her teens when receiving chiropractic care for a sports injury whilst playing badminton for the Island. It was during this time that she observed the benefits of chiropractic, not only in pain relief but also, with regard to performance in sport and overall health. Marie-Christine has a firm belief that health should be one of the main priorities in life, and prevention is always better than cure.
Having treated patients from a few days old, through to late nineties, Marie-Christine enjoys all aspects of chiropractic and believes no-one should have to “put up†with those aches and pains that get blamed on “ageâ€. Chiropractic can help build and maintain a robust and healthy body, capable of dealing with all that life throws at it.
From early in her career, Marie-Christine has seen a large population of pregnant mothers and paediatric patients using safe, effective techniques to assist in a pain free pregnancy and easier delivery. She has been very fortunate to treat and help many children and babies with problems including infantile colic, sleep disorders, reflux, irritable infant syndrome, and other chiropractic treatable symptoms.
Marie-Christine has completed further qualifications to use advanced dry needling (Medical Acupuncture) and has also taken courses in treatment of the pregnant patient and Paediatrics, Chiropractic Neurology, Activator technique, Rehabilitation, Cranial based techniques to name a few.
Marie-Christine Dix was part of the Award Winning Chiropractic Team who received the prestigious PPQM Award 2008-2010 from The College of Chiropractors, UK.Categories: Chiropractors.
