Denise was born in the North East of England and came to Jersey in the Channel Islands in 1984 for a holiday. She fell in love with the Island so decided to make it her home.
Having watched her mum sew as a child her ability to sew came naturally to her and she has sewn since the age of eight. Denise works full time as a legal secretary, however, she continues to sew in her spare time and decided to register Needletweedle as a business name in May 2012 and started making curtains, cushions, re-covering patio furniture and designing bespoke fancy dress costumes as well a carrying out alterations and much much more!
However, it was always the creative side of sewing that Denise enjoyed most and that’s how the Tweedle came to life! Making a Rabbit Tweedle in January 2013, it was closely followed by a pig, a cat, a dog, a cow and a chick and the Tweedle family continues to grow. The majority of the products used to create a Tweedle are sourced and purchased in Jersey and as long as the animal has legs and a head Denise can make it for you!
Genuine Jersey Tweedles are currently on sale at Andre’s of Jersey in St Johns Village or they can be ordered through the email address below or simply by sending a text to Denise and if you would like a particular animal which hasn’t been made into a Tweedle as yet all you have to do is ask and Denise will design one especially for you and it will become part of the Tweedle family!
Needle Tweedle isn’t all about Tweedles! For all your sewing requirements - from alterations, recovering patio furniture, cushions and curtains or making bespoke fancy dress costumes, Denise likes to be creative so the more unusual the request the better as she also loves a challenge!Categories: Sewing & Seamstress.
