About
Rebecca Coley is a film director working across documentary and drama, interested in creative ways of storytelling and mixing traditional approaches. Rebecca began her career as a runner for films in Liverpool, thirteen years ago. She studied at WFA in Manchester and worked for Newsline in the Channel Islands (ITV regional), before moving to London. She has made four shorts that have screened and won awards at festivals internationally, JACK BLOND, HARD TO SAY, PANTS & PRETTY BITCH. She also wrote and co-directed an award winning feature film, IMAGINARY SUMMER in 2008. She is currently directing a live theatre project, -five nights of pop-up theatre in launderettes around London – which will then be filmed in a documentary style, fly-on-the-wall piece about a day in the life of a London launderette. Recent projects include STEAMERS for Channel 4, about a sauna and steam room in the Docklands area of East London. The film is about camaraderie, friendship and community. Rebecca’s creative surf documentary, NIAS – POINT OF CHANGE, is also currently in production.Categories: Video Production / Filmmaker.
