Set in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Rozel and at the foot of a beautiful wooded valley, The Rozel is an old traditional style country pub with a wood-burning stove for those cold winter months and al fresco areas for the warm summers.
There is a selection of cask conditioned ales, including the award winning local, Liberation Ale, together with a large variety of wines, bottled beers and lagers.
Today the Rozel is everything a traditional pub should be. A wonderfully relaxing environment, with service the way it should be, friendly and knowledgeable.
You can pretty much eat where you sit at The Rozel. If it's just a snack or a single course meal you're after then you might prefer to sit in the bar downstairs but we prefer to shout about the Dining Rooms upstairs.
The Dining Rooms, as we like to call them, are focused purely on providing dishes prepared from the best quality ingredients, local where possible and fresh every day. Being so close to sea lends itself to being a 'fishy' style menu but we've kept all that for the specials boards. Who knows what's coming in on the boats each day! We buy most of our fish, lobsters, crabs and scallops from the local fishermen, often just one or two of a days catch, that way we ensure its always fresh and it keeps the specials boards interesting. When they're gone, they're gone!
The main dining room is rustic in style with old wooden floors and old walls as thick as the length of your arm. Its great for summer with some views over the sea and a great atmosphere which leads out on to the terrace and from there up to the garden.
The kitchen team is led by Chef Joe Chomphan. Joe has spent the last year as second in command at 'Chateau la Chaire' after joining from the Michelin Starred 'Chapter One' restaurant in Kent. The whole operation is overseen by Head Chef Marcin from Chateau la Chaire so we think it's safe to say the food is good!
