One of Jerseys longest serving bands, The Cryptics have been wowing audiences and making girls dance since the year 2000.They have played far and wide, and shared stages with the likes of the Cynics, the Hentchmen and the Paybacks.
Live shows guarantee dancing,light shows, lasers and the famous Cryptic backdrop of cool and trashy clips projected onto the band as they play. The Cryptics are a very open minded band and would encourage anyone who wants a good time to come to their shows, although sweaty men in combat shorts who like moshing to punk rock will not be tolerated.
The band, which formed from the ashes of The Deadbeats in 2000, comprises thus; the Svengali of six strings, The Mysterious GTO, the baron of bass, Mister Billy Cryptic, the bishop of bash, Woody “W†Woodsman and the viceroy of voice, Screamin’ Jonny Moth - all of them former teen heart throbs who now exude a more “lived in†charm.
Fans of the Sonics, the Reigning Sound, Jacques Dutronc and countless other unsung heroes of rock n roll will dig on the righteous garage rock and dynamic danceability that The Cryptics bring to the stage.
For the uninitiated, The Cryptics have always had a worldview at odds with the prevailing trends.
