Yoga is beneficial for the health in many ways that modern science is just beginning to understand. Even though it has been applied with therapeutic intention for thousands of years yoga therapy is only just now emerging as a discipline in itself.
More health care practitioners are starting to include yogic techniques in their approach to healing. It wont be too long before Yoga Therapy becomes mainstream and offered in hospitals, chiropractor’s, physiotherapist’s and doctor’s clinics. People who have never tried yoga before are starting to consider including yoga in their treatment plan. As yoga techniques are researched and new data is gathered, it becomes easier for science and the medical establishment to understand and accept the benefits of yoga therapy.
Henrietta is currently studying Yoga Therapy under an internationally renowned Yoga Therapist and Teacher in India and is qualified in Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga.
Throughout her teaching career, Henrietta has taught yoga and helped students with many different ailments and conditions. These include people with sports injuries, postural problems, depression, heart conditions, cancer (pre and post op), muscular dystrophy, COPD, ME, ADHD. This list is not exhaustive. Yoga therapy is tailored to suit the individual’s condition.
Henrietta is also conducting workshops dedicated to helping those with Lower Back Pain and Stress.
Dynamic yoga classes are based on what Henrietta is learning from the Dynamic Yoga Training Method.
“Dynamic Yoga is a profound training method that was developed by yoga master Godfrey Devereux. It is a systematic exploration of the relationship between body, mind and consciousness as expressions of one unified intelligence. Relying on the inherent intelligence of the body, rather than flexibility, skill or strength, Dynamic Yoga allows anyone to enjoy a seamless transition from separateness to integration, without losing touch with what makes each one of us distinct and unique.
Dynamic Yoga teaches you to release tension to “soften†completely in any yoga posture while still maintaining the necessary muscular effort to maintain flow, good posture and good alignment. Muscles are toned, joints are mobilized, heat is generated and the cardiovascular system is challenged. This method of yoga practice can be applied to any of the more challenging yoga poses. There is a vast distinct difference between the short term rush of endorphins that follows a gymnastic yoga work-out and the higher state of consciousness that follows an authentic yoga practice.â€
Beginners and experienced students can practice dynamic yoga side by side. The core techniques of Dynamic Yoga can be applied to all popular styles of yoga posture practice.Categories: Yoga.
