Grouville Football Club was formed in 1882 and at first competed in what was then called the County Parish Football Association. This lasted until about 1934 when a new league was established. The new league was called the Saturday Football League.
Due to the German occupation of Jersey during the Second World War league football was not played and the club ceased to function.
In 1947 the club was reformed and a playing field established on Grouville common between the fairways of what was and still is the home of the Royal Jersey Golf Club. This lasted until 1955 when the club moved to a newly established pitch on rented land at Le Boulivot. This is still our home ground and through the generosity of various donors, fund raising activities by the club and a loan from the then Constable of the Parish, the club became the owners of the land in 1973.
Various improvements have been made since then. The provision of a car park and after having had a couple of wooden huts for changing rooms, a new complex built in concrete block was added and officially opened in April 1994. This complex comprises of home and away changing rooms with showers for each, a referee’s changing room with shower , toilets and a licensed clubroom used for after match socialising and also club management committee meetings etc. A small training area with floodlights also forms part of the grounds.
In 2006 a project commenced to Purchase and Develop New Land adjoining the South side of Le Boulivot for use as Practice purposes. This project is still in progress.
In 1975 the Saturday Football League and the Jersey Football League amalgamated to form the Jersey Football Combination in which leagues the club’s teams now participate.
