1. Who you are contracting with

Globe Connected is operated by Globe Connected Limited (trading as Globe Connected), registered under number 166707, of 10 Fremont Perle, La Route Du Mont Mado, St John, JE3 4DN, Jersey (“we”, “us”, “our”). When you use this site you are contracting with us, and these terms form that contract: we provide the service and everything you get from a paid plan.

Purchases themselves are sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company, as the merchant of record. Link is the party that charges you and collects each subscription payment, including renewals; it appears on your card or bank statement as LINK.COM* followed by our name, and it issues your receipts and invoices. Your purchase is also governed by Link's consumer terms of service; these terms govern the service you are buying.

2. Acceptance

By accessing this site, creating an account, submitting content or buying a paid service you accept these terms. If you keep using Globe Connected after we change them, you accept the changed terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and, where you act for a business, authorised to bind that business.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your password confidential, and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. What we provide

Globe Connected is a business directory. We offer:

  • The directory — free to browse, and free to submit an entry subject to moderation.
  • Verified plans — a recurring subscription granting a number of company slots, verified treatment and priority placement for the companies you attach to them, and an extended profile, together with software tools for managing your companies: an enquiry inbox with conversation threads, Company Insights (approximate counts of page views and contact clicks per company), a structured data profile, API access to your own company data, and webhook notifications.

Verified treatment renders only while the company is also publicly active following moderation. Badges, profile features and priority placement are the entitlements you are buying; we do not sell, and do not promise, any level of traffic, enquiries, impressions, clicks, leads or sales. Verified companies appear ahead of standard entries on their category pages, and verified status can act as a tiebreak between otherwise equally relevant search results; within those groups, company order is determined by relevance and other non-commercial factors. Company Insights shows approximate interaction counts for information only; they are not a warranty of accuracy or of any outcome.

Enquiries. Visitors can contact a verified company through the contact form on its page. When they do, the visitor's name, email address and message are delivered to you as that company's owner — by email, in your enquiry inbox, through your API access, and to any webhook endpoints you have registered — and the visitor can continue the conversation through a private link we email them. For the personal data you receive this way you are an independent controller: you must handle it lawfully, use it only to deal with the enquiry, and not add visitors to marketing lists without their consent. API keys and webhook secrets. Treat them like passwords. You are responsible for every request made with your API key and for the security of any webhook endpoint URL you register. We may revoke keys or disable endpoints that fail persistently or are used abusively.

Webhook delivery. Deliveries are made on a best-effort basis with automatic retries; an endpoint that keeps failing is disabled until you fix it. Payloads for enquiry events include the visitor's personal data, so only register endpoints you control.

5. Content you submit

You keep ownership of the companies and images you submit, and you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt for display, and publish that content on Globe Connected and in connection with promoting it. You confirm you have the rights needed to grant that licence.

All submissions and edits pass through automated and human moderation. We may refuse, edit, deactivate or remove any content where it breaches these terms or applicable law. Moderation is a check on obvious problems, not a warranty that content is lawful or accurate.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Globe Connected for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any law or regulation that applies to you;
  • submit false, misleading, deceptive or fraudulent content, impersonate anyone, or list a business you have no authority to list;
  • send spam or unsolicited marketing, including through company enquiry forms or conversation threads, or harvest contact details from the directory or from enquiries you receive for that purpose;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload malware, probe, scan or test the security of the service, circumvent authentication, rate limits or moderation, or interfere with its operation;
  • scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically copy the directory except as expressly permitted by our robots directives;
  • manipulate placement or search ranking.

7. Our intellectual property

We own, or are licensed to use, the Globe Connected service and everything in it other than user-submitted content — including the software, database, category structure, compiled directory data, documentation, design, and the Globe Connected name and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose only.

8. Service availability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that Globe Connected will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that any particular feature will remain available. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we carry out maintenance that may make the site temporarily unavailable. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties.

Directory information is compiled from many sources and changes constantly. We take care over it but do not warrant that any company is accurate, current or complete, and we are not a party to any dealing between you and a business you find here.

9. Payment, renewal and cancellation

Prices are shown before checkout and are charged in the currency shown there. Prices are set per country and may vary between countries and currencies; the price shown to you is the price you are charged. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT and sales tax. Any tax due on your purchase is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay, and is collected and accounted for by Link as merchant of record.

  • Verified plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly as chosen at checkout, until cancelled. Link charges each renewal to your saved payment method, and may email you a reminder before a renewal falls due.
  • You can cancel a subscription at any time from your billing page, or from your Link account at link.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; your slots and verified treatment continue until then and stop afterwards.
  • If a renewal payment fails it is retried; your entitlements stay active while we retry, and if payment is not recovered your subscription is cancelled and verified treatment stops.
  • Receipts and invoices are issued by Link and emailed to you after each payment; your billing page also shows your payment history.
  • If we change the price of your plan, the change takes effect at your next renewal and we will give you reasonable notice beforehand; you can cancel before the renewal to avoid the new price.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Globe Connected at any time and may ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove your content, revoke verified treatment, or withhold unspent credits where:

  • you materially breach these terms, including the acceptable use rules above;
  • a payment due for a paid service is not made, is reversed, or is charged back;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a security or legal risk to us, our users or the service;
  • you repeatedly or seriously breach our content policies; or
  • we are required to do so by law.

Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so we will tell you why and, for a breach capable of being fixed, give you an opportunity to fix it. On termination your right to use the service ends immediately; the sections on intellectual property, liability and governing law survive.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost goodwill, or loss or corruption of data, or for any indirect or consequential loss; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the paid services in the twelve months before the claim arose, or £100 if you have paid us nothing.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Where a change materially reduces what you get from a paid service we will give you reasonable notice, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

13. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Jersey, and the courts of Jersey have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your country of residence.
