Jersey Mencap run art sessions 5 morning a week which are attended by adults with a learning disability and run by professional artists. We also fund attendance at craft sessions at the Harbour Gallery in St. Aubin.
We did this to give more choice to adults with a learning disability of how to spend their day and also the chance to be workin many art forms to "ignite a creative spark" as the Jersey Arts Trust would say. We recently held an exhibition of their work at The Westmount Gallery - this has now closed.
This has been a fantastic success and thanks must go to Melissa Bonn, our Arts Project Organiser for this, however with this success comes growth and with this comes financial costs and we are seeking funding for this project.
